1. How do I find an item?

2. How do I order an item?

3. FAQs

1. How do I find an item?

There are two ways of finding items in the shop:

1.1 Browsing through the categories: If you know the type of product you are looking for then simply click on the relevant department or sub-department in the list on the home page.

For example the book Aberystwyth Harbour - An Illustrated History can be found under 'Publications' and then 'Library Publications'.

1.2 Searching for items: You can search for any item in the shop by any keyword in its description or title, even by a publication's ISBN. You can search for any item in any category on any part of the site. The search box is always in the top right hand corner of the webpage.

For example, you can find the book John Nash, Architect in Wales. Pensaer yng Nghymru by Richard Suggett by typing in any of the words in his name, the title, the author's name, the description of the book or the ISBN: Nash, Suggett, Architect, Wales, eighteenth-century, surveyor, carpenter, architect or 0907158846.

2. How do I order an item?

2.1 Adding items to your basket

When you find an item you wish to buy, enter the number of items you would like to order in the box next to the price and then click on 'Add'. This will place that number of items in the shopping basket (subject to availability).

2.2 Placing your order

To place your order, at any time, click on 'Checkout'. This will take you to the final order screen and will process your payment. If you have ordered 10 of one item and there are only 8 in stock, the shop will only place 8 items in your basket at checkout.

Registering with the NLW shop will ensure that you do not have to enter your delivery details every time you order. We do not keep payment details on the system and you may remove your registration at any time.

2.3 Making a payment

What credit cards are accepted on this site?

WorldPay accepts payments by Mastercard, Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, Visa Purchasing, JCB, Solo and Maestro in Sterling, Euros or Dollars.

Is it safe to use credit and debit cards on this site?

Yes, all financial transactions are via WorldPay which is experienced in providing online credit card payment facilities. We do not process any payments through our servers at The National Library of Wales.
